Asia
This is the continent I live in; I live in India. I did some research and I learnt more about Asia and I wanted to share some of that information with you.
Introducing Asia
There are 7 continents in the whole world. They are Asia, Antarctica, Europe, South America, North America, Australia and Africa. Asia is the largest and most populous out of all of them.
Location
It is located on the eastern and northern hemisphere and it is surrounded by the Indian Ocean, pacific ocean, and the Antarctic ocean.
Geographical information
It covers 30% of the earth and it’s population is more than 4.5 billion people. This marvellous and diverse continent has a total of 49 countries in it. 5 of them which include Kazakhstan, Turkey, Georgia, Russia and Azerbaijan share their land with Europe. Part of them is in Asia and part of them is in Europe. These type of countries are called transcontinental countries.
Climate
Asia has 30 types of climates and some of them are tropical, wet and hot, dry and cold, and monsoon. There was an accidental discovery of a route; there was a search of a route connecting America to Europe. They accidentally found a road to India. Now this road is called the silk road.

History part 1
The history of Asia is found in many parts of Asia. When Asia was found, it was divided into parts. In central Asia, horse mounted nomads had took over and they could access any part of Asia. There were also many civilisations living here who came up with the idea of mathematics and the wheel.

History part 2
The black death or the great plague was believed to have originated in Asia. It travelled down the silk road and reached Europe. There was also a great survey in Asia and 16 different countries faced extreme bad weather.

Population
As I said, Asia is the most populous country with over 4.5 billion people spread over 49 nations. In the late 1990s and 2000s, the population has been growing extremely quick. According to the book ‘The world economy’, written by Angus Maddison, in the middle of 0 BCE and 1000 BCE, India had the most population in the world.
Languages
Asia has most language speaking countries in the world. Over 600 languages are spoken in Indonesia, over 100 languages are spoken in the Philippines and over 800 languages are spoken in India. Asia speaks many different and traditional languages.
Religion
Most of the world’s major religions originated in Asia. Even the most practiced ones like Hinduism, Buddhism, Islam, Christianity and Chinese folk.

Nobel prize winners
Asia has many Nobel prize winners. The first country to have most Nobel prize winners is Japan followed by India.

Thank you for reading and see you next time. Bye!!!!
